Hello

Hello, I am Misty Colbert. As a mother I devoted myself to raising well-rounded children as best I could with what I knew. As I learned, I taught my children and other children around us. I have seen the hurt in children who feel that they can’t talk to their parents and the fear and helplessness of being pestered by other students, so I made sure my children could talk to me. My desire is for all children around me to learn from me, feel more confident, and do better.
 

My faith is priceless. I could not have made it this far without believing in Jesus Christ. Having health concerns that, at times, were debilitating, will break you or make you stronger and I am definitely stronger today. Having to raise three children and be a caregiver at the same time was overwhelming for me. I’m grateful to have wellness in health now. I share my testimony whenever I can to help uplift and encourage others. Having little to get by on and still finding a way to help others in need, is a blessing of grace.
 

I have always had a creative side and have been organized. I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. In school, my papers would always come back all marked up, but the story was good. Grammar and punctuation weren’t easy for me, but I didn’t let that stop me from writing. My mother wrote all the time, so I had great inspiration. My dad is a preacher, so I also have the gift of gab. Part of family time together with my children was spent writing poetry or stories. Having a passion for poetry gave me a unique edge for relating to children. My creativity has inspired my children, and I hope it will continue to inspire them and many others.
